Where can I find my policy number?

You can find your Markel Policy Number on the Declarations page that you received when you purchased your policy.

I am getting a message that my information cannot be validated.

Either your account number or zip code did not match what Markel has on file. You can either try again or call 800-236-2453.

I am getting a message that my policy number is not recognized.

You may be trying to log in with an account that is not eligible for online account services. Please contact your agent or a Customer Service Representative at 800-236-2453 between the hours of 7am to 8pm CST Monday through Friday, and 8am to 5pm CST Saturday.

I don't remember my username and/or password.

You can use the "Forgot your username?" and "Forgot your password?" links on the account login page to retrieve your account username and password via the email address you used when you registered your account with Markel.

My account is locked.

For assistance, please contact a Customer Service Representative at 800-236-2453 between the hours of 7am to 8pm CST Monday through Friday, and 8am to 5pm CST Saturday.

Where can I print out my ID Card?

Once you have logged in to your account, you can simply click the "Proof of Insurance" button to print out your ID card.

Why are there two Proof of Insurance cards listed?

If you are currently close to your policy renewal date, the Proof of Insurance feature may give you the option to print either the ID card for your current policy period (active today) or for your future policy period (active after your renewal date).

It says my policy is "inactive" - what does that mean?

You may have registered an older policy on your account which is now inactive. Please check your current Policy Declarations statement that you received at the start of your policy term to verify that the correct Policy Number is listed on your account. If not, you can add it simply by choosing the "Add/Remove Policy" in the tool.

Where can I modify my policy coverages?

At this time, you can not change your policy coverages within the online Account tool. To modify your insurance coverages, please contact your agent or a Customer Service Representative at 800-236-2453 between the hours of 7am to 8pm CST Monday through Friday, and 8am to 5pm CST Saturday.

Where can I find my policy?

You can find documents associated with your insurance policy by clicking the "Policy Docs" button on your Account Home page. You can find the most recent documents listed first here.

I changed my account settings online, why isn't it also updating the information associated with my insurance policy?

At this time, updates made to the Account Settings online are only associated with your online Markel account. To change the information associated with your insurance policies, such as address, phone number, or email address, please contact your agent or call 800-236-2453 between the hours of 7am to 8pm CST Monday through Friday, and 8am to 5pm CST Saturday.

I removed a policy in my Account online, why am I still getting a bill for this policy?

The "Remove Policy" option in the online tool simply removes the policy from being associated with your online Account. It does not discontinue insurance coverage. If you wish to modify or cancel your insurance policy, please contact your agent or call 800-236-2453 between the hours of 7am to 8pm CST Monday through Friday, and 8am to 5pm CST Saturday.

How can I change my account settings (email address, password, etc)?

Once you have logged in to your account, you can change your Account information by choosing the "Account Settings" option on the Account Home page.
